In my culture, we have a saying that if you want to get to know someone, travel with them.

Traveling is the best way to get to know people and understand their true nature. My husband and I started traveling soon after we met - in fact, our first official date was a weekend retreat in Pangkor Laut, Malaysia. I often wonder how my life would have been if Richard and I hadn't taken that first weekend away together. I truly believe that this break was a vital moment in our relationship which set the path for our future. I vividly remember, we were traveling on a boat to Pangkor Laut, chatting about more holidays together before we even had started the first one. It was a time in which we discovered our mutual love for adventure and exploring the world.
It was indeed a magical holiday we spent at the beautiful Pangkor Laut. It was, no doubt, the most romantic place I have ever been to. The island was privately owned, with only one resort, making it almost like a hidden paradise. There wasn't much else to explore in that tiny island, but it did give us the opportunity to indulge in some well deserved self care and bonding. And that's all we needed. We stayed in a luxurious sea villa with a bottle of champagne and a spectature view of the sunset. Take me back!
Since that romantic weekend,of Pangkor, traveling together has not only strengthened our relationship, but also connected us even more deeply with one another.
