Port Dickson is a hidden gem in Malaysia which should not be missed!

Having been to Port Dickson a few times in the 4 years of living in Malaysia, I can confidently say that it is one of the most underrated destinations in Malaysia. Port Dickson was just an hour and a half drive from our location and quickly became our go-to weekend getaway staycation. Port Dickson is a small town on Malaysia’s west coast, south of Kuala Lumpur.

Port Dickson has so much to offer: the stunning Tanjung Tuan lighthouse, the crystal clear waters, the beaches of Port Dickson, the blue ocean with its varying shades of teal and aqua, blue skies as far as the eyes can see, and the white sand casting a gorgeous warm glow. The long stretch of beach is something to be admired. Even from a distance, the waves crash majestically against the shore, like a symphony composed of water and sea breeze.

What I love about Port Dickson is its authenticity and the traditional cultural and religious values that are respected by the locals and are visible. It is a peaceful and tranquil place to spend a weekend in harmony and reflection.

One of my favourite things to do at Port Dickson was during the monsoon season when the rain had just stopped, and the sun was starting to peek out from behind the clouds. I would take a stroll along the beach barefoot, taking in the stunning views, inhaling the fresh air, listening to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore, and passing by my feet. The life that I took for granted is becoming a dreamy memory in my head.
