Everyone has a bucket list, with a short or long list of things to do and places to see. Do you?

Indeed, a holiday at sea had been at the top of my husband's and my list for a while. This summer, we managed to cross that off our list. We went on a journey that will remain embedded in our memories for a long time.

The gorgeous Sky Princess was absolutely colossal, a Royal-Class cruise ship. There were over 3,000 passengers and 1,200 staff on board. I felt apprehensive to begin with and didn't know what to expect, but soon we were taken aback by the size of the ship and the entire operation. It was a well-oiled machine. Every single day was packed with activities, entertainment, food, drinks, games – you name it, you could find it on this moving city.

From the moment we stepped aboard, we were absolutely enchanted by the luxurious look and the welcoming atmosphere of the ship. The hospitality culture was inspiring and impressive throughout the cruise. "Extraordinary" doesn't begin to describe the experience. The staff were courteous and hospitable. Before long, we had checked in to our room and the journey began....…

This holiday, I purposefully disconnected myself from social media and other external distractions to truly enjoy this experience. Sometimes we need to disconnect in order to connect with ourselves. I took delight in people-watching, participating in games, singing along and discovered a few things about myself that came as a surprise. I overcame the fears that I had been struggling with on this break, something that I will cherish and celebrate.

Sailing on the Mediterranean Sea with a cruise that included all-inclusive amenities for two weeks was an experience of a lifetime; "exhilarating" doesn't even begin to describe it!

I could happily live that lifestyle for the rest of my life.
